When the world comes to after Surviving COVID-19 virus, there are several questions, but there is one thing to be said that we must deal with it between us for a while. Even if the vaccine is made, it will take a long time before it is spread to the masses. The precautions, according to Dennis Bonnen, should continue for a while.
This means so many new realities we will have to adapt to. Some of them are likely to live with us after the eradication of the epidemic. While life is going to look way better than at present, certain aspects will have modified irreversibly. And that might be also a positive thing.
I shall cover some topics in this article that will remain with us in the following years.
1. More Reliance On Technology
We are very fortunate that the virus reached us at a time when technology has improved quite a bit. As a consequence, it did not affect the economy as much as it should have. Many people have been able to operate remotely so that business operations can continue. And distance learning was available, so kids didn’t lose out on their education because they needed to stay at home. It would not have been as effective as it is a decade ago, or at least not as effective as it is now. When the virus is gone, we are likely to see more employees doing it remotely, and online schooling will prove to be the standard for many more people.
2. More thoughtful shopping
Mindless and impulsive shopping is still here, but it is hopefully not as usual. Many people would certainly regret some of their purchases that they wouldn’t have made right away when they work or lay off entirely.
This means that shoppings will require more thinking than previously and can give many people a habit. That’s how long things have been. Some people do not know the shops offered so that you can pay a little at a time until after the last payment you can take the product home. This practice can be strengthened because it is less likely that people would put it on a credit card.
3. Less Flying & Traveling
Business travel is almost unheard of right now, and there are almost more meetings going on. Once the pandemic has ended, many corporations would be hesitant to spend the money to send their employees on the road to save money. If it works right now, it will work in the future.
As far as traveling for fun is concerned, this is likely to slow down as well. People find that it can be just as enjoyable to stay closer to home instead of wasting a lot of time and money on long distances. Once the pandemic is over, this pattern is likely to continue for a while. Particularly because people are going to spend less money overall.
